Everyone looked mad, depressed and tyred. Food was not usually in abundance, to say the least. The food we ate had to be prepared by the children. We had many line of works signed to us. My favorite chore was to peel what seemed like millions of potatoes. Those potatoes were planted, harvested, and stored by the children in the orphanage. We ate baked, mashed, and perfumed potatoes. On spare occasions, we were treated to a wonderful fish dinner! The topical anesthetic fishermen would donate some of their puzzle to th e orphanage.
